❤️ In a heartwarming display of community spirit, Landmark Theatres hosted a special event on Thursday, December 12th, for those at risk of loneliness this Christmas. Held at the Queens Theatre, the afternoon was a festive celebration designed to bring joy to vulnerable adults who might not otherwise experience the magic of the season – and, it was all thanks to you, our wonderful patrons! 🙌
We were thrilled to welcome guests from organisations such as Age Concern UK, Sunrise Diversity, North Devon Homes, and more.
The festivities began with a festive sing-along led by talented local musician, Katie Kerslake. Her infectious energy soon got everyone clapping, singing, and even dancing along.
As the music played, our guests were treated to mince pies and hot drinks, served by the Landmark Theatres team who worked tirelessly to ensure every guest felt cared for and included 🫖🥧
Following the festive refreshments, attendees were whisked away to a world of enchantment as they watched this years pantomime, Beauty and the Beast. Just a few of the glowing reviews from our invited guests included “absolutely amazing” and “it’s a very good show this year, it’s one of my favourites”.
This event was made possible through generous donations to our Give the Gift of Theatre appeal. Throughout the year, we invite you to join us in this mission. Your donations create opportunities for others to experience the same magic of theatre that you enjoy in our venues.
Our Head of Talent and Participation, Ben Lyon-Ross, expressed his gratitude, saying, “Thanks to the kindness of our audiences, we are able to work with our partners to make the festive season a little bit warmer for people in our communities.”
We’d like to say a big thank you to all that attended our event, those that donated to make this possible, Katie Kerslake & RED Entertainment for such magical performances, and our ever-dedicated Landmark Theatres team 🌟
