Suzanne is getting married tomorrow. At 40, she’s a little older, a little wiser, and hoping she’s finally got it right! She is settling down with Gary, an accountant; a reliable man and a sensible choice. Does she have any regrets? Her mother, Eleanor, will be sure to remind her of all her less-than-perfect moments, as they spend an evening in the luxury hotel suite that the lovely Gary has booked as a gift. Her daughter, 18-year-old Laurie is joining them too, with plenty of opinions about Suzanne’s plans and some uncomfortable questions about her past. The three women spend this auspicious evening sharing memories, secrets, and rather a lot of booze…what will be revealed? And what does the waiter make of it all?!
Writer and Comedian Katy Brand dedicates her play to “any woman in pursuit of her own happiness”- a fitting introduction to this warm, funny and painfully honest exploration of three generations of women, which raises the question of what it means to be a woman in the twenty-first century. Recommended for audiences aged 14+.
This amateur production of 3WOMEN is presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals Ltd. on behalf of Samuel French, Ltd.
