The local dance theatre company that brought you “Women what Dance” return to the Welcome Weekender.

Underbelly reclaims a forgotten chapter of a Victorian underworld celebrating the power, wit and solidarity of the “fallen” women who broke the rules and re-shaped them. Each movement journeys into the shadows, bringing to life a world that sought to erase them.

Raconteur Dance Theatre was founded in 2021 by Clare China from a desire to create work for and with emerging professional dancers.
