LANDSCAPE RAVES vol. 1 

Adventures in Newfoundland 

One of the best compliments I have ever had about my artwork is ‘I didn’t realise you could make a landscape painting into a rave!’ 

This is why I paint. The sense of euphoria you can achieve when listening to music and dancing is matched for me by how being on the coast makes me feel.  

The ever changing ocean, salty, ozone air and open skies inspire me to recreate the elation of being by the coast through colour. I make paintings that are joyful, with elements of magical realism, through a palette enhanced with neons and metallics. The colours are how a location feels to me. I was lucky enough to spend last summer in Newfoundland, exploring new coasts with great friends. This exhibition is a record of how being there made me feel.
